Road engineer Heath Sexton told commissioners he had identified two box culverts that lack guardrail and requested permission to apply for a Local Road Safety Initiative (LRSI) grant to install guardrail and guardrail end anchors at the two sites.
"I request approval to, submit an LRSI grant application for, guardrail and guardrail end anchors for those 2 locations," Sexton said, naming Kenny Road 30 (BEN 007571) and Kenny Road 15 (BEN 013185). He noted the required local match is 10 percent.
Commissioners asked whether other locations could be added to the application; Sexton said they could include additional places if the commission identifies them. Staff said they would collect any further location details and return with more information for the application.
