The Council approved the purchase of a 2026 Ram 3500 Tradesman crew cab for public works after staff presented two quotes and a budget summary. City Administrator Max Baker said staff requested quotes for a four-wheel-drive, one-ton, long-bed truck with a non-diesel engine; the two competitive offers were a 2026 Ram 3500 for $48,366 and a 2026 Ford F-350 for $51,919.52. "Motion to purchase a 2026 Ram 3500 Tradesman crew cab not to exceed $48,366 was made by Councilor Murray, seconded by Councilor Harris, and approved unanimously," the minutes say.
Baker said $75,000 had been budgeted across four funds for the purchase and that choosing the lower-priced Ram would leave funds available to add a rack and toolbox to prepare the vehicle for public-works duties. Baker also noted staff researched options for about four months and that the City's other newer vehicles are Rams. Council approved the motion on a unanimous roll-call vote.
