Council goals update: hiring complete, radar signs approved for county right-of-way, rate study set for fall

City Administrator Max Baker provided the council with a multi-topic status update on FY 2025–26 goals. He reported that hiring a City Administrator was completed July 1 and that work to hire an outreach coordinator is in the early stages. Baker said a cell phone policy for City Hall is in progress and that an agent for Old City Hall has been acquired and offers are being evaluated.
Baker also reported Lane County has granted permission to install radar speed signs in the county right-of-way, and he described planned work on system development charges (SDCs) and a rate study scheduled for late fall to be provided by RCAC at no cost to the city. He noted funding opportunities for Pioneer Main Street safety improvements will open in January 2026. Baker did not request immediate formal action from the council during the update.
