City Administrator Max Baker told the Council that a gaga ball pit at Paul Fisher Park was installed and popular immediately, and that local youth had already offered recommendations to staff. He said staff are preparing to install new swing sets at Rolling Rock and hope to place a memorial plaque by the end of the week, while park bathrooms remain closed pending toilet repairs.
On the covered bridge, Baker said staff met with Overhead Door and Lane County and learned the commercially used gates should not be modified; the contractor will provide a quote to repair the opener and to replace a damaged support beam at the bottom of the gate. Public Works made ten additional keys and will have staff open and close the bridge for a week to ensure reliability before re-enlisting volunteers to operate it.
