Community Services Director Eric Howes told the Commission that ongoing staffing shortages are placing strain on full-time employees, who are covering approximately 95–100 operational weekly hours. To address the gap, the department will immediately begin recruitment for an Assistant Center Manager with a target start date near June 1.
Howes said a second proposed support position remains undecided and will depend on City Council budget deliberations scheduled April 28. The Commission noted staffing shortages can affect program operations and asked staff to continue recruitment and to coordinate with council budget timelines.
