Haley said the first topic, hemp‑derived THC, captured nearly all discussion and prompted participants from across sectors to weigh in. Attendees raised concerns about preventing youth access, urged researchers to monitor changes in the marketplace after recent federal budget/farm‑bill actions, and discussed whether federal regulation is needed. Haley said the session demonstrated diverse and sometimes unexpected alignment among participants, including members of the cannabis community advocating for stronger public‑health protections.
