Board hears MTSS on-track gains: ninth grade jumps 10 points

"If you remember, 9th grade was 77% and we hoped for 87. We finished at 87," said speaker S7, reporting a 10-percentage-point gain for ninth graders. S7 also reported sophomore on-track increased from 72% to 90%, juniors from 78% to 91%, and seniors at 97%. The presentation credited teacher interventions, J-term programming and planned midyear benchmarks for ongoing monitoring.
Board members responded by pressing for further grade-level breakdowns and supports in math and other areas. The board discussed deploying additional math intervention periods and reviewing grade-specific data during follow-up work sessions. Administrators said they will return with midyear assessment results and more detailed grade-level comparisons.
