Curtis Dickson noted increased family use at Island View Park and a planned project to remove a wooden electrical box near the pavilion. Jacobson Park was reported in good condition after an address correction. Canal Trail reports documented minor trash and damaged wall lights and, importantly, evidence of a service vehicle driving on the trail near the Antelope overpass that left mud and gravel debris across the pavement; staff confirmed construction activity in the area and said they would verify completion status and the presence of 'closed' signage.
At Fisher Park commissioners noted deteriorating paint on building doors and missing handicap parking signage (posts remain but signs are absent). At Thornock Park staff observed that turf is being used for sitting during cooler months but warned the turf can reach very high surface temperatures in summer (staff noted a potential for temperatures up to about 120°F) and said they will monitor usage during peak summer months.
Staff will follow up on construction signage and repair plans for trail debris and lighting and will work to replace handicap parking signage at Fisher Park.
