Utah Jazz donation and contractor support set to fund Bicentennial Park basketball court

The Clearfield Parks & Recreation Commission reported that the Bicentennial Park basketball court project is fully funded after a $120,000 donation from the Utah Jazz and an in-kind concrete donation from Clyde Construction.
Director Eric Howes (speaking virtually) said utilities for a new restroom are already in place and crew plans include constructing the court; staff are also exploring hillside enhancements such as a concrete slide and other adventure-style features. The project funding, he said, is covered through the Jazz donation, the contractor contribution and existing grants and donations.
Commissioners discussed complementary improvements (restroom placement and site amenities) and staff noted that construction and equipment donations reduce the city’s direct capital outlay. The commission will continue coordination with donors and contractors as the project moves into design and procurement.
