After a required public hearing, the Nemaha County Board adopted the fiscal year 2024–25 budget and set the final tax request. The board also accepted the Auditor of Public Accounts' county audit and federal single audit for the 2022–23 fiscal year during its April meeting.
Over the year commissioners reviewed and approved routine claims, adopted depository resolutions (Auburn State Bank, First National Bank of Johnson, Union Bank & Trust) and approved reenrollment in the NACO BlueCross BlueShield plan for the 2024–25 plan year (an 8.7% premium increase was recorded). They also accepted NIRMA insurance renewals and received an NIRMA dividend check later in the year. The board approved a number of formal claim payments (including final contract pay applications) and approved a $1,510.25 claim for rock damage to a private vehicle after a county rock truck scattered material onto a highway.
