Marie Jewett updated the Selectboard on the fire station planning committee’s work. She said the Main Street parcel under consideration is zoned residential (5 acres) but the town’s non-residential requirement is 7 acres; as a result, the project will require a waiver from the New Haven Development Review Board. Jewett said she has filed paperwork and is on the DRB agenda for April 6, 2026.
Jewett also said the committee plans to meet with Jim Northup to review design changes and funding options. "Right now the cost to build a new fire station is approximately 5.5 million," she told the board. The committee will explore design refinements and donor/funding strategies; no contract awards or funding commitments were made at this meeting.
