Bobbitt said staff plans to bring a revised accessory dwelling unit (ADU) ordinance to the zoning code update subcommittee within the next fiscal year "to make sure that that's in compliance with the state regulations." She said housing-element work is not expected to be intensive this year but will increase next year as the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) evaluate the region's 7th-cycle housing numbers.
Director Forbes described other timelines: a draft arterial fence and wall master plan anticipated in about six months, continued safety-element meetings and public input, and open-space focus groups and pop-up public meetings. Staff also noted the wireless code update could resume if new federal or state regulations emerge and if City Council requests additional review.
