Selectboard authorizes limited spending by treasurer and road staff, appoints town officers
Summary
The board authorized the treasurer to make limited expenditures before a signed pay order and set small spending thresholds for the Road Foreman and Road Commissioner; the board also appointed several town officers for one-year terms through March 2027.
During organizational business the board addressed financial delegation and appointments. Marie Jewett moved to authorize the New Haven Treasurer to expend monies prior to written approval of a signed pay order for postage-related, payroll-related payments and ACH payroll transactions; the pay order is to be signed after the fact and corrected if necessary. The board also authorized the Road Foreman to spend up to $1,000 and the Road Commissioner up to $2,000 without prior approval. The motion was seconded by Mike Audy and approved 5–0.
The board appointed multiple town officers for one-year terms expiring March 2027, including fence viewers (Tim Bouton, Don Johnston and AI Karnatz), Karen Gallott as Inspector of Lumber, Shingles & Wood and Weigher of Coal, Harold Tricou as Tree Warden, Adam Becker as Assistant Tree Warden and Pam Kingman as Selectboard Assistant. These appointments ensure continuity of statutory town roles and day-to-day operations.
