David Ferber, a Sawyer Lake Village District commissioner, reported the district delivered a $30,000 check in mid-April for its dam capital reserve fund and that, to his knowledge, the funds had not yet been deposited. He said several attempts to contact trustees had not resolved the issue and the delay had cost the district approximately three months of interest.
Selectmen acknowledged the disruption and said the recent passing of trustee Fred Buchholz had affected account access; staff reported they were working to restore access to accounts and address related projects.
