LCB updates board on Aramark pilot for beer and wine at WSU’s Geyser Field

Joe Rademacher of the licensing division described the board-approved pilot that allowed Aramark to provide beer and wine service and general seating consumption at Geyser Field. Licensing approved the pilot for implementation on 09/10/2025 and staff monitored operations at four remaining home games. "We're here today to provide an update, on the pilot program that was approved for Aramark at WSU to begin beer and wine sales and consumption in general seating at Geyser Field," Rademacher said, and added that licensing followed up after each game to ensure corrective actions were taken.
Captain Jeremy Wissing, joining online for the enforcement perspective, summarized field observations and enforcement responses. He said enforcement staffed multiple officers across the four games (7 officers at the Apple Cup, 1 at the second game, 3 at the third, and 4 at the fourth) and issued a written warning following the Apple Cup for inconsistent ID checks and handoffs of alcohol. "Results from the 1st game, the Apple Cup, a written warning was issued," Wissing said. After the final game enforcement issued an administrative violation notice for operating-plan violations. Licensing and enforcement plan to meet with Aramark and the university on April 15 to discuss findings and next steps; staff will develop a recommendation for the board based on that pilot review.
