The Montrose City Council voted on Jan. 30, 2025, to sell the city-owned bar building to Kris and Shanon Weber of Salem for $81,000. Mayor Susan Painter opened the special meeting at 7:03 p.m.; council records show the seller will pay 100% of title and closing fees and the net to the seller is $75,063.68.
Council member Scheff moved to accept the offer and Council member Hanisch seconded; the motion (Action 25-020) passed by roll call with no opposition. The sale documents note the buyer's intention "to keep it as a hometown bar/restaurant," and zoning member Hallem stated during public comment that he agreed with the council's decision. Finance Officer Nicole Siemonsma attested the minutes. The meeting adjourned at 7:07 p.m.
