Audubon County OKs policy letting secondary roads superintendent take county truck up to 15 miles outside county

The Audubon County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 2026-50 on July 21, 2026, allowing Secondary Roads superintendents to take their county-assigned vehicle out of county limits to their residences if the residence is within 15 miles of the county line. The motion passed unanimously.
The resolution states: "Road Superintendents may take the Audubon County Secondary Roads superintendent vehicle out of county to their residences as long as it is within 15 miles from the county line. They must go on and off duty from the county line and they will not be paid for travel time outside of the county." Engineer Mitch Rydl presented the policy and the board signed the measure into record as Resolution 2026-50. The board’s signatures include Chair Kent Grabill and Auditor Clerk Chassity Musfeldt.
