The Montrose City Council voted on Jan. 14, 2025 to combine the city council election with the school election scheduled for June 17, 2025. Councilmember Alex Binder moved the measure and Councilmember Scheff seconded; the roll call showed no opposition and the motion carried.
The change was passed as Action 25-005 during the council's regular meeting at the Community Center. Mayor Susan Painter presided; the council did not discuss ballot logistics, but appointed Councilmembers Binder and Vogel to represent Montrose at the Rural Fire Board meeting on Feb. 18 later in the agenda.
