Finance Manager Mohawk updated the board on the district’s monthly spending and recent incident-related costs. "As usual, we spent about $1,500,000 monthly," Mohawk said, and reported a debt-service payment of $76,000 to a tax-exempt QSAP account with about 75% expected to be reimbursed through the IRS.
Mohawk described a flood in one portable that required cleanup costs of about $32,000 and an additional roughly $30,000 of repairs that insurance will cover except for a $1,000 deductible; the work is expected to be finished in three to four weeks. Mohawk also reminded board members about Oregon Government Ethics Commission filings (OGEC): the filing window opens March 15 and filings are due April 15, and new board members should receive a notification email.
