Austin ISD lays out transportation, enrollment and transition logistics for Paredes reassignment

Dr. Angel Wilson outlined move logistics: site walks begin July 29, initial packing wraps up about July 30, vendor furniture transport and teacher move-in Aug. 4–7, and targeted on-site setup at receiving campuses through Aug. 18. The administration said designated transportation hubs (libraries, fire stations, campuses) have been vetted for safety and that the district will apply its existing two-mile transportation eligibility policy to the new attendance boundaries and evaluate hazardous-route cases. Officials also committed to transition camps, making counselors a priority, and working with athletics and fine arts directors to maintain extracurricular participation during reassignments.
Administrators acknowledged uniform-related costs for families reassigned to Mendez, which has a uniform policy, and said the district is reviewing funds and options to make families “whole” for those expenses.
