Commission authorizes signature on Davison County jail contract; court-appointed and juvenile rates set for 2025

Auditor Geralyn Sherman presented the 2025 Davison County Jail contract at the Dec. 10 meeting; the cost listed in the contract is $105 per prisoner day. Commissioner Dean Koch moved to authorize Chairman Liesinger to sign the jail contract; Commissioner Marc Dick seconded and motion carried.
Sherman also presented a notice from the State Court Administrator that the 2025 court-appointed attorney rate will be $120 per hour effective Jan. 1, 2025. The Commission authorized the Chair to sign per diem agreements for juvenile housing: Minnehaha County Regional Juvenile Detention Center at $497.80 per day and Shelter Care (Lutheran Social Services) at $296.14 per day. Those rates were recorded and the Commission approved signature authority to execute the agreements.
