Highway Superintendent Travis Raap presented five bids for gravel crushing at the Dec. 10 meeting. Bids ranged from $91,000 (JAG Crushing, Hartford, SD) to $170,450 (Central Specialties). Commissioner Marc Dick moved to award the crushing contract to JAG Crushing for $91,000; Commissioner Steve Gordon seconded and the motion carried.
The award authorizes the Highway Department to proceed with gravel crushing for county road projects, including chip hauling and ditch work noted elsewhere in Raap’s report. The selection is recorded in the minutes as a formal procurement decision approved by the Commission.
