Council reviews MOU to create Mobile Integrated Health role in fire department

Fire Chief Rob Toth presented a proposed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City and IAFF L4111 to establish a Mobile Integrated Health (MIH) position within the fire department. The MOU would define working conditions, compensation and protections for an internal candidate who would perform non-emergency, community-based health services.
Council did not take action and the item will return for formal approval. Chief Toth said the agreement is intended to support community health efforts, provide opportunities for an internal candidate, and formalize insurance and labor protections in a written MOU.
