A staff member presented an initial estimate for the city’s 2026 budget, saying the draft applies a typical 5% increase across most line items while recognizing the property-tax levy is limited to roughly 1%. "I put in front of you guys the, an update on showing an estimate on the, budget for 2026," the staff member said, and added that staff have been correcting errors and reorganizing items to produce a cleaner draft.
Council members asked about timing and requested visual summaries; staff said Jamies Jamieson and other staff are reviewing each line item and expect to release the updated materials in mid-November. No formal budget adoption took place at the study session; staff indicated continuing work on charts and line-item adjustments before a public review or adoption process.
