District staff present student engagement survey and classroom engagement continuum

Miss Zemansky presented the district's Wisconsin Multilevel Systems of Support (WIMLS) work and the engagement continuum used with students and staff. She said the district used an April student survey as baseline data and will repeat the survey next year; the WIMLS committee will meet four times annually to review results and plan continuous improvement.
The presentation emphasized three focus areas—positive culture, strong universal (Tier 1) instruction, and attention to each child’s needs—and included a student-friendly engagement continuum for classroom display. "We do plan to repeat this survey again next year," Miss Zemansky said. She also explained that teachers received their own compiled results while individual student data was kept private; she added she would prefer to run the survey in NextPath next time for better data continuity. Board members asked about the timing (April) and how teacher-level results were distributed; staff said teacher packages were compiled and sent privately by her secretary.
