Manager updates: PennDOT grant support, towing ordinance not advertised, and upcoming public hearing on zoning amendment

During miscellaneous updates, Borough Manager Cindy Wells told councilors the borough is preparing a letter of support for a PennDOT Charging & Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program application along the US Route 6 corridor and asked council to attend the Devereaux Day kickoff and related events.
Wells also said the council "opted to not advertise for bids" on the towing ordinance. She reminded councilors of a public hearing on Sept. 16 for an amendment to the zoning ordinance (to be advertised twice as required) and a separate vote on an amendment to the parking ordinance that will also be advertised as required. Manager Wells provided meeting dates for insurance-plan presentations on Sept. 25 and CERT training Sept. 27–29.
The PennDOT grant support and the towing ordinance decision were recorded as administrative items; the zoning amendment will receive a public hearing and subsequent council vote following the required advertising procedure.
