Council approves $22,295 repair to sinkhole and pipe at Municipal Lot #1
Summary

Streets Supervisor Bob Phillips and consulting engineers described extensive drainage damage at Municipal Lot #1, including failure of a 24" clay tile and a missing 68' section toward the Municipal Authority pipe. Engineers recommended lining pipes in four sections, replacing the damaged 24" tile in the sinkhole, reconnecting all pipes in the sinkhole area, installing a larger catch basin next to the sinkhole, and replacing approximately 10 feet of pipe.
Council reviewed two contractor estimates — Mansfield at $22,295 and McLallen Construction at $23,450 — and voted to accept Mansfield's $22,295 proposal. Both estimates required the Borough to provide a truck during the project. The motion to contract Mansfield was moved by Councilor Steadman, seconded by Councilor Osborn, and carried unanimously.
