Staff provided an update on the single-hauler program, saying a mailer from GFL with cart-distribution details will go out to residents within the next few weeks and that cart distribution will begin the week of October 12. The mailer and the city website will include route schedules, contact information, and details about how to request a different bin size after the program begins.
Staff said existing haulers have been notified of pick-up dates for their customers' old carts and that residents should leave bins out on the last pickup day; staff expects old bins to be picked up within 24 hours. If a resident already subscribes with GFL they will keep their existing bins and will not receive new ones.
