Board approves personnel actions, student trip and multiple policy updates
Summary
The board accepted two resignations, approved volunteers and substitutes, authorized the FFA State Convention trip, and adopted a suite of policies including Preventing Chronic Absenteeism (effective Aug. 1, 2026) and several student health and transportation policies.
Under the superintendent's recommendations the board approved multiple personnel items and policy updates on Feb. 9, 2026. The board accepted the resignations of Devon Anthony (effective Jan. 14, 2026) and Tina Jones (effective Feb. 20, 2026), approved Amanda Belknap as a band volunteer and Joey Lunsford as an after-school high school credit-recovery instructor paid at the tutor rate, and amended an unpaid leave for Alexis Stallman to run Feb. 20–Apr. 15, 2026.
The board also approved remaining membership in the Ohio High School Athletic Association for 2026–2027; adopted the district Gifted Identification Plan and Gifted Education Policy; approved Stark State College's College Credit Plus agreement; and adopted several policies including 6.09 Preventing Chronic Absenteeism (effective Aug. 1, 2026), 6.30 Student Health Services and First Aid, 6.44 Transportation of Students in Board-Owned Vehicles (replacement), and 6.60 Overdose Reversal Drugs. The board approved the FFA overnight trip to the State Convention April 29–May 1, 2026, and approved classified substitutes pending credentialing.
