Council authorizes application for Missouri Blue Shield grant for police radios and laptops

The council unanimously passed Resolution 36‑16 to authorize the mayor to apply for and, if awarded, accept funding through the Missouri Blue Shield grant program for law enforcement equipment. Deputy Chief Gary explained the city must apply to be a Blue Shield City to qualify and described equipment included in the application.
"We did apply for 3 new mobile radios, which is the 1 on patrol cars, that are about almost $6,000 a piece," Deputy Chief Gary said, and added the department included two Panasonic Toughbook computers and docking stations in the request. The resolution directs staff to proceed with the application process.
