Council gives final approval to 2026–27 school resource officer agreement

The council moved Bill 17‑90, an ordinance authorizing the City of Fulton to enter an agreement with Fulton Public School District 58 to provide one school resource officer (SRO) for the 2026–27 school year, to final passage and approved it by roll call. Deputy Chief Gary said the department had selected Jonathan Morris to fill the SRO role and that he recently completed required training.
"He just completed advanced SRO school last week," Deputy Chief Gary said, adding that the city values SROs for building relationships across the district’s six campuses. Clerk-conducted roll call recorded five councilmembers in the affirmative for final passage.
