Chair Lynn Visio said the township developed a detailed, site-specific list of conditions intended to mitigate potential adverse impacts of a hyperscale data center on residents, neighborhoods, properties, and natural resources. Visio said the safeguards were designed for this site rather than a broadly applicable ordinance and reflected guidance from the Montgomery County Planning Commission.
Visio said the applicant at first represented it would implement provisions the township proposed but ultimately rejected the requested conditions. The council posted the full list of requested conditions on its website and encouraged residents to review the posted safeguards to understand what the township sought to protect.
