The Village of Edmore will use a Michigan Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award to provide homeowner-occupied rehabilitation assistance to low- and moderate-income residents. Village Manager Cory Hamlin reported that the Village applied for up to $250,000 and was awarded $236,000, with $36,000 designated for administration. "Our letter of intent was approved," Hamlin said, adding that the program prioritizes health-and-safety repairs first, then outside appearance and code violations.
Hamlin told the council that all assisted homes will be owner-occupied and that the program expects no displacements. Qualifications include households at 80% or less of area median income. The Village plans a timeline beginning August 2026 with work continuing through 2027 into early 2028. The council took no public comments on the hearing and closed the public hearing before proceeding with other business.
