The board cited Oklahoma law requiring suspension of a student found in possession of a firearm on public-school property (with a statutory minimum period unless modified by the superintendent) and referenced the federal definition of "firearm" in 18 U.S.C. § 921 and district policy FNCGA and the Pawnee Public Schools Student Handbook.
The board unanimously adopted the findings of fact before making a separate, divided decision about modification of the suspension.
