Attorney says Weatherbell Drive corrective application filed after 2023 violation

The Norwalk City Conservation Commission received a corrective action application for S26-66535 (35 Weatherbell Drive) on July 28. Attorney Liz Saatchi, representing Michael and Kathleen Pasquarela, told the commission the original notice of violation dates to August 2023 and that a subsequent application filed in November 2023 was deemed incomplete after soil-scientist reviews by Jay Fine and Jim McManus.
Saatchi said the current filing is intended to move the matter forward and that the applicants prefer to maintain existing conditions rather than removing a row of boulders and historic fill because that work could be “more detrimental” to the red maple swamp on the eastern portion of the property. She asked to appear on the next available agenda after the staff memo and consultant responses are reviewed: "We're gonna move it forward now and hopefully get to a point that is acceptable to you and acceptable to client," Saatchi told the commission. Staff agreed to provide the enforcement files and minutes from the prior action for commissioners to review before the next meeting.
