City staff to propose budget dollars for Cascade near‑term safety improvements; memo goes to council in June

City staff told the Sisters Public Works Advisory Board that near‑term elements from the Cascade Avenue safety audit will be included in a June council packet and that staff will propose funding for those items in this year's budget.
"We are going ahead with actually proposing dollars in this year's budget to do those near term improvements," Paul said. He added staff will work with Kittleson to include board feedback in a technical memo and will coordinate with ODOT before installation.
Staff indicated a tentative implementation timetable: take the technical memo to council in June, seek budget authority in July, and attempt to install near‑term signs, striping and limited devices toward the end of the summer, contingent on ODOT approvals for changes on the state highway segment of Cascade Avenue.
