During the public‑comment period, multiple residents raised neighborhood and service concerns. Ramsey McCloud described website search changes that made city ordinance lookup harder for residents and asked the commission to publish clearer liaison reports and neighborhood‑association meeting status. He also urged staff to prepare an itemized accounting of city costs allegedly incurred responding to destructive behavior by certain groups in parks and to present it to the commission.
Wade Hitchcock, who gave his address, pressed the city to do more to attract family‑oriented businesses downtown and described hazards he found on Lake Worth Beach, including discarded fishing hooks and rubber bands that threaten beachgoers and turtles. “The downtown, we need to do something to bring it up... There’s nothing for kids,” Hitchcock said. Commissioners acknowledged the concerns and directed staff to look at beach enforcement and vendor cleanup responsibilities.
Mary Lindsay used the public‑comment period to invite commissioners and the public to a farewell event for longtime library volunteer Cindy Ansell on August 15, explaining the Friends of the Lake Worth Library are hosting the event and that proceeds support the city library.
