Council approves rezoning of front portion of annexed Highway 190 parcel
Summary
Council voted to rezone the front portion of an annexed ~8.5-acre parcel on Highway 190 to B-3 General Business for commercial use, while leaving the rear acreage as open land to be later parceled residentially; sellers' representative said only 0.5–0.8 acres will be used commercially.

Jeremy Jones, representing the sellers of an annexed parcel along Highway 190, told the council the property had been annexed earlier and now the front portion is requested to be zoned Commercial (B-3 General Business) while the back would remain open land and could later be sold as residential. Jones said the parcel totals about 8.5 acres and the immediate request covers roughly 0.5–0.8 acres of the frontage.
Council opened a public hearing with no public comments and then voted to adopt the rezoning ordinance by roll call. The measure amends the zoning designation for the described Bogalusa-Parish-assessor parcel (reference identifier given in the ordinance text) and repeals conflicting ordinances.
