Master Gardeners ask DeRidder for site to relocate community greenhouse

Kirk Delard, representing the Beauregard Master Gardeners, asked the DeRidder City Council to help find a city site with water (and preferably electricity) where the group's 20-by-20 greenhouse could be moved after they lost access to the Rose Pine Research Center. "We would maintain it... we would use it for education," Delard said, noting the group has about 25 active members and runs free garden forums and children's STEM events.
Council members asked about the greenhouse size and site needs; Delard said the group would cover installation costs and likely set the greenhouse on concrete. The group highlighted prior outreach at local fairs and national night out and said they work with the LSU AgCenter and local 4‑H programs. The council thanked the volunteers and asked staff to follow up with contact information.
