Isleton City Council voted Oct. 14 to authorize the city manager to accept a responsive bid and sign a contract for ADA improvements on Main Street, funded by a SACOG grant.
Staff explained the project scope: curb ramps and ADA upgrades at three crosswalk locations (E, F and H Streets). Kurt Swanson, the staff grant manager, said the city issued a request for bids in accordance with state law, received one responsive local bidder from the Loomis/Rockland area, and that the bid amount was in line with engineer estimates. Because SACOG funding requires timely obligation of funds, staff asked council to authorize the city manager to execute the contract.
Council moved and approved the authorization by roll call without recorded dissent. Members noted concerns about timing and coordination with the historic review board for any visible streetscape elements; staff confirmed the work is primarily concrete ADA work and that lighting or historic‑district elements can be coordinated separately.
