Isleton City Council voted Oct. 14 to adopt Resolution 1205 authorizing the use of supplemental funding for an abatement project at the Isleton Public Library.
Staff explained the work is administered through a joint powers authority (JPA) that holds the funding; the city’s role is to ratify the expenditure so the JPA’s records reflect lawful spending. The resolution covers a roughly $20,000 expenditure noted in the staff report and, according to staff, 'has no fiscal impact to the city' because the funds originate in the JPA. Council discussion praised interagency cooperation; one council member noted the library had previously occupied a former kindergarten building and commented on fixture selection for small children.
The resolution passed on a roll call with one vote recorded as 'No.' Council asked that the city continue coordination with the library system to improve joint planning.
