Parks staff explained how residents can report maintenance issues through SeeClickFix and the newly released City of Garden City app, saying the tools streamline two‑way communication with Public Works.
Staff described the notification flow: when a resident files a SeeClickFix report they receive an acknowledgment and a closure notice when the work is complete; more complex requests may generate follow‑up questions by email. The director said SeeClickFix reduces duplicate reports and helps the department track and close issues more quickly.
The department also noted the city app — now available in app stores — includes a SeeClickFix link, the Parks calendar and contact numbers for Radcliffe. Staff said they will begin marketing the app in the coming month and encouraged residents to use the tool for quick reporting rather than relying solely on emails or phone calls.
Commissioners praised quick DPW responses in recent storm cleanups and suggested a future agenda item to demonstrate how to submit SeeClickFix reports for commissioners and residents.
