Trustees approve summer event permits: Pride extension, fireworks weekend, Artfest and more

Trustees voted to approve multiple summer-event permits and banner placements after hearing presentations from organizers. Seton McElroy (speaker 2) requested an extension of a green permit for Pride of Woodstock until 6 p.m. to allow an afternoon dance; Committee member (speaker 1) moved to approve and Moderator (speaker 2) seconded; the board adopted the extension unanimously.
Lois Denahan (speaker 7) received approval for Garden Club banners and the plant fair; the fireworks committee (speaker 10) described a full July 4 weekend of events including a bike parade, kids and adults markets and a community dinner with food trucks, and trustees approved the use of the green and banner placement while urging event organizers to coordinate parking and alcohol containment with public works and police. The Chamber of Commerce's Artfest (speaker 12) and the Covered Bridges half-marathon (speaker 14) also received permits pending updated certificates of insurance. Trustees noted several approvals require a COI on file and clear setup/breakdown plans with police for parking control.
