Council approves Resolution 07-25 to place delinquent sewer charges on county roll after staff details collection limits

The Isleton City Council voted to adopt Resolution 07-25 to place delinquent sewer charges for fiscal year 2024–25 on the county tax roll and authorized the deputy city clerk to file the list with the county auditor. Staff said the sewer list is longer than the Cal Waste list, is a static (not live) end-of-year snapshot, and had been reduced by roughly $3,000 after staff outreach and notice. Staff also said some payment plans were granted and that one protest from earlier in the year remained under review.
During discussion, a council member said reliable, regular collection is essential to the city’s fiscal viability and suggested outreach to real-estate agents and including information about county and state assistance on future sewer bills to help residents in distress. Questions were raised about parcel-number (APN) accuracy between city and county records and the practical limits of contacting property owners. After discussion the council moved, seconded, and approved the resolution on the recorded roll call.
