Volunteer-led group seeks town approval to submit application for F‑16 memorial; fundraising to be routed through local foundation

Joe Solmer (S5) told the council the group is about 95% finished with applications to acquire an F-16 jet pylon from either the National Museum of the Air Force or a Federal Surplus program and requested council review and formal approval to submit the application packet. He described preferred placement on the south side of the school near the gymnasium, a donor brick walkway, a memorial plaza honoring all six federal services including the Space Force, and an architect's rendering being prepared by Paul Harding.
Solmer said fundraising will be conducted through the Adams County Community Foundation with a kickoff planned for Memorial Day weekend and a press conference beforehand; he named Pam Callaway as a volunteer lead for fundraising efforts and asked the town and Adams Central to consider linking to the project's Facebook page and website for publicity.
