Selectboard authorizes pursuit of Northern Border and EDA grants for wastewater and infrastructure

Selectboard authorized the Town Administrator to pursue Northern Border Regional Commission funding (up to $1 million for wastewater projects) and Economic Development Administration grants (competitive, generally $2M–$20M), to support culvert upgrades, bridge replacements and wastewater infrastructure.
Karen Geraghty of KG Consulting reviewed recent grant outcomes and recommended that Londonderry pursue funding from the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) and the Economic Development Administration (EDA). Geraghty said NBRC awards can fund wastewater management projects and the NBRC application opens soon; she noted NBRC eligibility for awards up to $1,000,000 for this type of project. She also described EDA grants, which can range from roughly $2 million to $20 million but are highly competitive nationally.
Martha Dale moved to authorize the Town Administrator to pursue grant funding from the EDA and/or the NBRC for priority town projects including culvert upgrades, bridge replacements and wastewater infrastructure. The motion passed unanimously.
