Town Hall renovation plan targets MERP funds; reserve fund shortfall noted

Liam Elio, representing the Town Hall Renovation Committee, told the Selectboard that bids have been received for basement work and RFPs issued for walls, attic, and window restoration using remaining MERP funds and any leftover Town Office project funds. The committee hopes to begin work when the fiscal year begins July 1 and complete most projects by the end of the calendar year.
Elio said the building reserve fund is currently negative for the year. While the typical annual request is $100,000, the committee is proposing a $200,000 request for the upcoming fiscal year and indicated an estimated $150,000 of the reserve could be counted toward the renovation.
