Selectboard moves to create checklist and volunteer onboarding to address Open Meeting Law warnings

Town Administrator Aileen Tulloch told the board that several recent meetings were not properly warned and that agendas often arrived at times that made meeting the required 48‑hour posting window difficult. Tulloch reiterated that, under state law, committee chairs bear the responsibility for complying with Open Meeting Law posting requirements.
Board members discussed whether staff could post agendas if they arrived during normal business hours and agreed to create written instructions and a checklist for committees. The Selectboard decided the checklist and onboarding materials will be distributed by the Selectboard (not staff), and that if committees fail to meet the posting requirements responsibility should revert to the committee chairs.
