Commissioner moves to stop publicly listing home addresses for public commenters; county attorney to draft rule change

"I do not believe that requiring speakers to publicly provide their home address is necessary to accomplish that purpose," the speaker said, arguing the board can determine residency without revealing someone's specific address and that the current rule creates legitimate safety and privacy concerns for some speakers.
The board asked the county attorney to prepare a proposed change. The county attorney responded, "I will propose I'll prepare an item for the board's consideration in the next, work, regular meeting," and the chair indicated the matter will be brought forward for consideration. No immediate rule change was adopted at the meeting; the attorney will prepare a proposed amendment for a future agenda.
