Londonderry Selectboard authorizes application for Congressionally Directed Spending and letters of support

Town Administrator Aileen Tulloch told the board she has submitted a preliminary application to Rep. Becca Balint and received responses from Balint and Senator Welch. Martha Dale moved to “grant approval to the Town Administrator to apply for Congressionally Directed Spending and to authorize the Chair to sign any needed Letters of Support on behalf of the Selectboard,” and the motion passed unanimously.
Board members said outreach to federal legislators is a way to position town priorities for possible funding even if awards are uncertain. The Selectboard did not specify a dollar amount or particular project tied to this authorization; Tulloch said applications were being prepared and that any specific request would return to the board as needed.
